The past few years, I've been a less than stellar friend to many good people. I just haven't been there for them, haven't made a point to be a part of their lives. For this I am sorry. You guys know who you are. I lub you guys!

In unrelated news, I killed my back again this weekend. Going to the doc again. Planning on actually following through with the exercises he gives me this time.

Brother's in town from Germany on leave for a bit. Talking all the kids to go mini-golfing tomorrow. Should be fun. Last time Lain went golfing she chased my friend around with her putter.

Still alive. Plowing through the busy season at work. Hoping to return to the normally calm seas sometime in August or September. New curricular stuff is always a pain in the ass. Praying it doesn't go on much longer.

Looking to return to Portland for an extended weekend. Fall or Spring? Portlanders chime in.

This is going to be a great week, I can feel it in my sneezes.../sigh Go go super allergies!

I realized this weekend that work was stressing me so much that I was actually being short with people here. Very unlike my normal pleasant demeanor. Seriously. That's at least what I show people. People that work with me closely know the truth though. Anyway, we've got about 2 weeks before the new clinical curriculum starts and no one seems to be very cooperative. It's killing me. Add to that the normal high stress testing season we are in, sick kids, and a puppy who refuses NOT to shit in her cage at night and it made for a long weekend.

It seems every few weeks or so (or when people are playing it up) I get the strong urge to find a job in Portland. I'd glanced at job sites here or there but never pursued anything. I really don't know how much longer I can hold out. I think Em is ready to get out of Dodge, and the kids, well, they'd have to adapt. It'd be hard on Lain, but she's a trooper and will do just fine. The only thing holding me back is a good job. Not really the best time for that, though, sadly. I'll keep my eyes open, though. Who knows? I should also recruit my Portland homies too...

My 20th reunion is Friday. To say I'm a bit nervous would be an understatement. I haven't seen most of these people for, well, 20 years. The ones I've seen recently still have been over 10 years ago. I'm twice the man I was then. Literally. Plus, I'm not very social..at least not without my handy dandy xanax. It should be interesting. Wanna see something crazy? Look at that hair!

Having a throw back to "good ol' days" and listening to a mix a good friend (whom I miss dearly...hope she's well) made in...93, 94-ish. Head's up. Moving forward. Destination to be determined later. Shit ton of school work to do this weekend. Not looking forward to it. The only bright spot is that it gives me an honest excuse to avoid my mother-in-law, who is in town this weekend. Damn witch.

Half day today, starting the school push early. Unfortunately, that leaves me entirely unmotivated at work. Been a long 3 weeks of testing here, so glad to be done. Next big cycle is in a few weeks. Lots of development to be done before then. Not to mention we are not at all ready to handle the new clinical curriculum starting in July. Going to be a fun couple of months of scrambling. Here's hoping we all survive.
